CRESCENT BEACH INVITATIONAL 2014
(COLLECTOR CARS & MOTORCYCLES)

The organizing committee and the primary sponsor, ' Pelling Insurance' held the fourth annual Crescent Beach Invitational on the grassy lawn of spectacular Blackie Spit in Crescent Beach on August 30th. Continuing in the spirit of the former Steamworks Concours, the 2014 event marked the 12th year that they have brought together a Labour Day long weekend gathering of Collector Automobiles and Motorcycles.

While the forecast was for rain, the morning was a mix of sun and cloud which allowed a steady stream of vistors to enjoy the incredible collection of cars and motorcyles ranging from the earliest days of the craft to more modern versions. It was only around 1:00 that a few drops of rain sent some owners of the convertibles to cover their cars to protect the beautiful interiors. The rain never came in any appreciable amount and so people were able to enjoy a full day of viewing these magnificent examples of automobile and motorcycle engineering art.

Blackie Spit is a well-known wildlife conservation area, which makes it unique as a venue. The 'by the ocean' setting' is within walking-distance to Crescent Beach restaurants and stores.

The organizers welcome local businesses as sponsors and would be pleased to talk to them about ways they can get involved in the event. For more information, please contact Colin or Laurel Gurnsey at 604-980-7429 or e-mail lgurnsey@telus.net

The photos below show the variety and quality of motorcycles and vehicles at this year's event.
